Samantha’s Tech Journey


Samantha is a seasoned Cybersecurity Operations Manager with expertise in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) and a passion for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) in tech.

With a strong background in developing cybersecurity and risk management programs for businesses across various industries, she is recognized for her leadership and strategic insight. Samantha’s career journey began as an intern with federal and state law enforcement agencies while earning her Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice.

After transitioning to the private sector, she honed her skills in aligning cybersecurity regulations with business goals. In 2022, she earned her Master’s in Information Technology Management and shifted her focus to healthcare security. Samantha’s passion for cybersecurity, technology, and law, coupled with her analytical acumen and leadership skills, sets her apart as a highly sought-after professional in the field.

Samantha is the proud Founder & CEO of Tampa Bay Techies, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping aspiring tech professionals enter the industry. Since founding the organization in May 2023, Samantha has led the growth of the community to over 700 members, forged partnerships with over a dozen training programs and schools, and advocated for DE&I in tech every step of the way.

A seasoned public speaker, Samantha regularly takes the stage at tech, business, and entrepreneurship conferences and events, passionately advocating her mission of fostering connectivity and championing DE&I within the technology sector.

Mentorship is a cornerstone of Samantha’s work, and she takes great pride in guiding and supporting young tech professionals as they navigate their careers. Her commitment to mentoring has not only empowered the next generation of technology leaders but also strengthened the Tampa Bay tech community.

Recently, Samantha received the honorable title of “2023 Emerging Tech Leader of the Year,” reflecting her commitment and diligent efforts to the Tampa Bay technology community.

Samantha’s transformative leadership has created a lasting impact, making her an inspiration to countless aspiring tech professionals and a driving force in shaping the future of the technology industry in Tampa Bay and beyond.
